Insurance that pays for injuries or damage you cause to other people, up to your policy's limits.
On car insurance, limits are written as three numbers, like 50/100/50, in thousands of dollars: per injured person, per crash for all injuries, and for property damage. Anything above your limits can be your bill.
Renters and homeowners policies also include liability coverage for someone hurt in your home.
