Assets
Things you own that have money value, like cash, savings, retirement accounts, investments, a home or a car.
Assets are the plus side of your net worth. Count them at what you could sell them for today, not what you paid.
Some assets grow, like investments, and some lose value over time, like cars and electronics. Cash and savings are the easiest to use in a pinch. A home or a retirement account can take time or cost money to turn into cash.
